Michael Tremonte, the co-founder of Sher Tremonte LLP, is a highly-regarded counselor and advocate with over twenty years’ experience litigating in state and federal courts. He is well-known for effectively representing individuals and entities in complex commercial litigation, for securing successful outcomes in high-stakes internal and government investigations, and for navigating multi-jurisdictional and cross-border disputes. Michael’s civil practice covers the prosecution and defense of claims involving financial services, real estate, finance, energy, professional services and employment law. His white-collar practice focuses on the defense of clients in criminal and regulatory proceedings involving allegations of securities and accounting fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, money laundering, antitrust, cybercrime and tax fraud.
Michael previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. He graduated from New York University School of Law, and clerked for the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
