Practice Areas
As chair of the firm’s public finance practice, Michael Roynan focuses on nonprofit, government and real estate-based finance. He has served as bond counsel or counsel to issuers, banks and borrowers in more than 60 tax-exempt debt financings with an aggregate value in excess of $4 billion.
Mike has participated in many types of public finance transactions, with a particular emphasis in manufacturing, nonprofit and governmental financings.
A significant portion of Mike’s practice involves structuring and completing complicated project financings for the construction of major infrastructure improvements for nonprofit institutions. Mike has served as counsel to major regional and national financial institutions, hospitals, continuing-care retirement communities and museums in construction-based tax-exempt bond transactions. In these transactions — which often require the resolution of an array of real estate, credit and tax issues — Mike calls upon his deep training and experience in construction and project finance to allow teams to quickly and properly resolve any related issues.
