Michael has a market leading reputation across all sectors, and is regarded as a thought leader globally on all aspects of climate change, including decarbonization and energy transition (and all means to achieving it), and ESG, presenting and writing prolifically. This thought leadership has resulted in engagement at the highest levels of government on policy settings and implementation.
Michael undertakes a broad range of multi-disciplinary advisory roles, including finance (debt and equity), corporate (including joint ventures, acquisitions and disposals), commercial, construction and engineering, project development and financing (advising on all aspects of project development across all sectors), approvals, and regulated and unregulated markets.
Career
Michael has been practicing law since 1989. Michael has worked on projects and transactions across Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Publications
Michael authors Progress to Net Zero (published every two weeks), having authored a similar publication at his previous firm. Also, with partner Jason Bennett Michael recently co-authored a chapter on LNG and ESG for The Law and Business of LNG. Over the last 10 years or so, Michael has published over 120 works, with 80 works published since 2019.
