Richard is the Partner In Charge of Baker Botts’ Singapore office and a partner in the firm’s Global Projects Practice. He is a projects and transactions lawyer experienced in complex energy and infrastructure projects, with extensive experience working in London and across Asia-Pacific.
Richard advises governments, project sponsors, multi-laterals, senior debt providers and investors across a range of sectors including energy & power (conventional and renewables), energy transition including CCS / CCUS, hydrogen and future fuels, energy transmission, gas infrastructure, ports, waste and mining. He is highly skilled in advising on complex and first-of-a-kind projects having acted as lead partner on the world's largest off-grid renewable power supply to mining operation as well as on Australia's first financially closed waste-to-energy plant. He is currently leading on one of Asia’s first cross-border HVDC renewable energy import projects as well as on a multitude of projects spanning CCS, hydrogen and ammonia.
