Michael Goldmann

Michael Goldmann is a founding partner of HARTE-BAVENDAMM. He specializes in trademark law, unfair competition and antitrust law, design law and copyright law.

His particular focus is on judicial enforcement and defense in national and complex cross-border disputes.

Michael is not only a litigator, but also advises his clients strategically on the development, optimization and utilization of their IP portfolios. This includes filing IP applications and conducting registration, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the DPMA and the EUIPO as well as advising on license agreements and distribution systems.

Michael also assists clients in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns.

His German and international clients include large and medium-sized companies in the fields of fashion and clothing, luxury goods, furniture and interior design, finance, cosmetics, food and beverages, catering, logistics, energy, software and consumer goods.

Michael Goldmann is a member of the Committee on Trademark Law and Unfair Competition Law of the German IP Association (GRUR), INTA, MARQUES and the German Society for Research on Brands and Branding.

Michael Goldmann is author of the leading text book on the legal protection of trade names and other business identifiers (5th edition 2023). He is co-author of a number of other books and has published many articles on trademark, unfair competition and copyright law and lectures at conventions and seminars.
