Career
Merete has more than two decades of experience. She focuses on employment and labour law, pension law, litigation, and dispute resolution. She advises top management on all employment law issues. She is highly experienced in litigating cases before the ordinary courts, the Labour Court, and the Norwegian Supreme Court. She is also one of a handful of Norwegian employment lawyers to have several times conducted cases before the Court of Justice of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Merete has an interest in and extensive experience with issues regarding inclusion, diversity, and equality. She is a board member of the Norwegian Association of Lawyers’ Inclusion and Diversity Committee (a professional network and a trade union for lawyers, attorneys, and law students) and a member of the advisory board of Advokatenes HR (organization ensuring employment law education among Norwegian lawyers). Prior to joining the firm in 2017, she worked for, among others, Kvale Advokatfirma and an employers’ organization (SAMFO). Her experience from SAMFO makes her a valuable adviser in all collective employment law issues.
