Merete Furesund has over two decades of experience and specialises in employment and labour law, pension law, litigation, and dispute resolution. She advises top management on all aspects of employment law and has litigated cases before the ordinary courts, the Labour Court, and the Norwegian Supreme Court. She is also among the few Norwegian employment lawyers to have successfully represented client’s multiple times before the Court of Justice of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Before joining the firm in 2017, Furesund gained experience at Kvale Advokatfirma and the employers' organisation SAMFO. Her time at SAMFO has made her a highly valuable advisor on all aspects of collective employment law.
Furesund has a strong interest in inclusion, diversity, and equality, with significant experience in these areas. She serves as a board member of the Norwegian Association of Lawyers’ Inclusion and Diversity Committee, a professional network and trade union for lawyers, attorneys, and law students. She is also a member of the advisory board of Advokatenes HR, an organisation dedicated to employment law education for Norwegian lawyers.
Furesund is a member of The Norwegian Bar Association, The Norwegian Society of Labour Law and The Pension Forum.
Furesund is co-author of the Norwegian chapter in Workforce Restructuring in Europe, Bloomsbury 2015.
