The main focus of his practice is litigation. He is well versed in areas involving complex contractual disputes, shareholder disputes and disputes regarding board of directors’ duties and liabilities He also advises companies on general corporate law matters such as mergers and demergers and liquidation of companies.

Matjaž joined ODI in 2010, became partner in 2014 and now heads the firm’s Dispute Resolution Group.

He has been extensively involved as an expert in legislative procedures for passing various Slovenian laws, such as Law of Property Act, Enforcement Act, Financial Collateral Act, and the Decree on the Register of Nonpossessory Liens.

Matjaž is a lecturer in Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia in the areas of enforcement and corporate law and is an author of numerous legal articles, including: Effect of resolutions on nomination and discharge of commercial company management and supervisory board members in court practice, EU regulation on insolvency proceedings, Payment of (un)restructured secured claims after confirmation of compulsory settlement and agreement on preventive restructuring.
