Masha has extensive experience advising on regional and international data protection, privacy and cybersecurity matters.
She is a TMT and commercial lawyer in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Practice at CMS, based in Dubai. Masha has been in the region since 2019. Prior to joining CMS, she worked at leading international law firms in London and Dubai, as well as with KPMG and in-house at Warner Bros.
Her practice focuses on developing and implementing data protection programmes, including gap analyses, compliance audits and the localisation of global frameworks to meet Middle East data protection, privacy and cybersecurity requirements. She regularly drafts data processing and data sharing agreements, conducts data protection impact assessments, delivers in-house training, and advises on cross-border data transfers, breach response and emerging AI-related issues.
Masha advises both public and private sector clients across a broad range of industries, including healthcare, automotive, financial services, education, retail, and media and entertainment, as well as some of the world’s largest technology companies.
She is a regular contributor to publications on data protection and privacy, including OneTrust DataGuidance, LexisNexis and the international journal Privacy Law & Business.
Masha is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and is admitted to the State Bar of California. She also holds CIPP/E and CIPM certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, as well as a Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection from BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
She is fluent in English and Dutch.
