Mary Nigritinou is a Partner at Papanikolopoulou & Partners Law, with a strong focus on capital markets and complex financing transactions. She advises banks, financial institutions and corporates on debt capital markets issuances, structured finance transactions and cross-border financing mandates, with particular experience in bond offerings, regulatory-driven structures and sophisticated lending arrangements.
Mary Nigritinou was promoted to Partner in 2025, having previously served as Senior Associate at the firm. Prior to joining Papanikolopoulou & Partners Law, she spent over eight years at Zepos & Yannopoulos (2016–2024), progressing from Associate to Senior Associate and advising on high-value debt issuances, structured lending and capital markets transactions in both domestic and international contexts. She began her career at KG Law Firm (2013–2016), focusing on banking and finance matters.
She is recognised for her technical precision, commercial awareness and hands-on role in the structuring and execution of complex capital markets mandates.
Her focus is on loan sale transactions, and she has been involved in the sale of loans from all Greek systemic banks, both through securitisation (including securitisations benefiting from the HAPS guarantee) and direct sales, representing either the seller or the buyer. In this respect, Mary was involved in the first NPL securitisation of a Greek systemic bank, and numerous subsequent NPL securitisations, and in the secondary sales of NPL portfolios serviced by one of the largest Greek servicers.
Mary also brings extensive experience in financial institutions M&A; notably, she worked on the carve-out of a systemic bank’s call center operations and its subsequent sale to a third-party investor. Another highlight of Mary’s practise is her involvement in the recapitalisation of two major Greek banks, during the Greek financial crisis. Finally, she recently advised a systemic bank on the issuance of covered bonds under the newly applicable (2023) EU directive on covered bonds (2019/2162), as incorporated into Greek law.
