Mariken van Loopik

Mariken leads the firm’s EU financial regulatory practice and is active in the fast developing area of EU-level financial regulation, advising EU and non-EU banks, insurers, investment firms, [the ECB], and other market participants on a broad range of matters. She focuses on matters of strategic importance for financial institutions, including prudential regulation, governance, compliance, bank resolution. In the context of M&A, she specialises in restructurings and capital markets transactions, as well as enforcement and litigation. Mariken also advises on licence requirements and on the ongoing obligations of financial institutions.

Mariken is a board member of the Dutch Association for Financial Law.

She is also a co-editor of Tijdschrift voor Financieel Recht. She has been a contributing editor at The Banking Regulation Review (Law Business Research), and regularly chairs the recovery and resolution seminar held yearly in Frankfurt.
