Practice Areas
Mariana is specialized in the fields of M&A, Corporate and International Law advising local and foreign companies, to set up and develop their businesses in our country. She also has ample experience in Project Finance -in particular of Energy Projects- and during the last years, she has been largely devoted to the environmental area, assisting clients with all environmental compliance and regulatory issues, the performance of legal environmental audits and with respect to environmental aspects related to land planning and land uses’ regulations.

Work Highlights
She is part of the team that assists UPM-Kymmene in its project of the new pulp mill and its associated infrastructure (railway network, roads and port terminal specialized in pulp in the Port of Montevideo), with an approximate cost of USD 4 billion, having participated both in the negotiation process of the investment contract with the government of Uruguay, as well as currently during its implementation and development, leading the area of environmental, corporate and regulatory legal advice.
