Maria's principal areas of practice include: aviation insurance, airlines, airports, cargo, catastrophe work, general aviation multi-jurisdictional, passenger, personal injury, products, reinsurance and subrogation. Aviation liability including hull claims, major accidents, cargo, personal injury, insurance coverage and general aviation principally within Europe and the Middle East.

In the Who's Who Legal - Transport 2022 analysis of the aviation market, Maria was identified as coming "highly recommended for her top-notch practice and extensive experience of aviation insurance and cargo catastrophe claims." She is a former member of the Legal Studies Group of the International Union of Aviation Insurers and Lloyds reforms Committee.
