Career

Partner at Pumpin, Dorfman, Nasser, Díaz y Cía (PDND). An attorney with a degree in Legal Sciences from Universidad de los Andes, in addition to a master's degree in Legal Research, and a PhD in Law from the same institution (Summa cum laude). Throughout his career he has specialized in Civil Law, Commercial Law, Insurance, Consumer Protection and Civil Liability. He oversees the insurance area in PDND, along with the partners Gabriel Pumpin and Ignacio Díaz, and personally attends to the firm's main clients. He is the Academic Director of the Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance Law at the Chilean Association of Insurers' School of Insurance since 2015.

He is currently Director of the Revista Chilena de Derechos de Seguros (Chilean Journal of Insurance Law) since 2016, a specialized open periodical dependent on AIDA Chile, the national chapter of AIDA International (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances), a global nonprofit entity of a scientific nature whose purpose is to promote research, studies, and the improvement of Insurance Law, in both doctrinal as well as positive law aspects.

He is a researcher and member of the Executive Committee on Insurance Law at the Universidad de los Andes. In academics, he has taught undergraduate courses in Roman Law, Civil Law, Insurance Law and Consumer Rights, along with working as a postgraduate professor in Insurance Law and Consumer Rights for the Corporate Law LLM program in at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (LLM-UC), in addition to the insurance law course at the Private Law LLM program at the Universidad Diego Portales and the PhD course on Legal Institutions at the Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia. He has been invited to tach at the Universidad de Montevideo International Programme for Insurance , as well as to Judge in the Moot Madrid, namely the most important Spanish speaking Commercial Law Moot. He was founder of the Universidad de los Andes Legal Clinic.

He is a judge on the Chilean Bar Ethics Committee.

He is member of the newly developed Centro de Arbitraje de Madrid, (CIAM).

He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and AIDA Chile and an arbitrator for ARIAS-Latam (AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration System).

He counts more than 30 published works in Chile, Germany, Colombia, Austria among other countries, considering papers, book chapters and books.
