With 25 years of experience in the field, he represents local and international clients including film producers, TV channels, streaming platforms, tech, advertising and social media companies, record labels, as well as beverage, clothing and apparel and pharmaceutical companies on trademark and unfair competition matters.
Career
Founded Murta Goyanes in 2008. Before that, he at major Brazilian Law Firms and as an international legal consultant at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.
Publications
Marcelo Goyanes is a professor of Trademark Law at the Post-Graduate Program of PUC-Rio. He also lectures at well-known Brazilian academic institutions and universities, is the author of the law book Tópicos em Propriedade Intelectual, and co-author of multiple other books and articles on IP-related legal matters (published both in Brazil and abroad), including: The Monetization of the Global Music Business and The Streaming Revolution in the Entertainment Industry. He was appointed general counsel of the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents and is a member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers' Executive Committee.
