Marcel Bartnik

Dr. Marcel Bartnik is a partner at Dupont Partners and heads the firm's Investment Funds practice. He has been working as a lawyer in the Luxembourg investment funds space since 2005, providing practical and in-depth legal and regulatory advice on the structuring, establishment and maintenance of Luxembourg regulated or unregulated investment funds.

His work has a particular focus on alternative investment funds such as RAIFs, partnership structures or SIFs. However, he also has substantial experience with retail funds such as UCITS or part II funds in Luxembourg.

In addition, he frequently assists Luxembourg management companies and AIFMs with various regulatory issues such as license extensions from the planning stage until the receipt of such license from the Luxembourg regulator CSSF, or issues concerning their corporate governance or internal policies.

He is also regularly involved in investor due diligences for his clients and assisting them with negotiating side letter provisions.

While he is a German national, his work leads him to communicate routinely with his clients on a worldwide basis in German, English and French.
