Mafalda leads the corporate and financial law practices combining her expertise in both areas. She also co-heads the Search Fund Iberian Desk

With over a decade of experience in the corporate, commercial, financing and M&A areas, Mafalda’ professional focus is deeply rooted in large scale operations - local and cross-border- including legal and regulatory aspects relating to corporate transactions, providing in-depth legal advice either on a standalone or multi-jurisdictional basis.

Having acted for Portuguese companies (including some unicorns) on funding rounds and on subsequent strategic acquisitions, she also advises venture capital funds and private equity investors on M&A transactions and has notable experience in issues relating to the incorporation and operation of search funds, including legal and regulatory aspects relating to it.

Alongside her involvement in M&A deals, Mafalda is actively involved in the day-to-day of her clients, advising investors, founders, management bodies, assisting with the structuring of the clients’ operation, assisting with regulatory issues, drafting codes of conduct and supporting them in other daily operational and institutional needs, providing general corporate legal advice through every stage of a company lifecycle.

Before joining CCSL as a Partner, Mafalda worked at Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho in Lisboa for over 11 years with a secondment experience at Davis Polk & Wardwell in London as foreign associate.
