Maarten Mussche

Maarten Mussche specialises in corporate and commercial litigation. He represents clients in cases concerning cross-border trade, liability and corporate governance, both in court and arbitration proceedings.

Maarten acts as counsel in disputes relating to commercial contracts, investment agreements, M&A transactions, banks’ duties of care, and the termination of joint ventures and other collaborations. He litigates high-profile cases concerning shareholder disputes and the liability of directors and supervisory board members.

His clients include multinational companies, start-ups, management boards and supervisory boards, investment firms (including private equity funds) and shareholders across a wide range of sectors. In addition, Maarten acts for public law entities.

Career

In 2011 Maarten obtained his PhD with a dissertation on directors’ liability, a field in which he continues to advise and litigate. Maarten practised law for 15 years at leading Dutch firms, including De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and Florent. In 2022 he became a founding partner of Finch Dispute Resolution, an independent litigation boutique.
