Maarten has broad litigation experience, particularly in cases involving shareholder conflicts, breach of business contracts, acquisition-related disputes, directors’ liability and enforcement claims. Maarten advises companies, shareholders, directors and professionals in cases involving business conflicts or potential liability situations. He regularly represents clients in inquiry proceedings and in squeeze-out or buy-out proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber in Amsterdam.

In 2011 Maarten earned a PhD at the Erasmus University Rotterdam on a this regarding directors’ liability. He is an editor of the monthly academic journal Maandblad voor Ondernemingsrecht since its inception in 2015. Maarten frequently publishes in the field of corporate and commercial law.
