Work Highlights
1. Representing Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited before Bombay High Court in: (i) its challenge against
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s new tariff order on broadcasting; and (ii) defending its claims against the
Board of Control for Cricket in India.
2. Representing Idea Cellular Limited (now Vodafone Idea Limited) in: (i) regulatory proceedings concerning the
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s Interconnection Usage Charge Regulations; and (ii) various penalty
proceedings in relation to spectrum usage charges and license conditions.
3. Representing Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited before an arbitral tribunal in disputes relating to construction
of the Mundra – Bhatinda 550 km oil pipeline.
4. Representing Cowtown lnfotech Services Private Limited (a Lodha Group company) in claims arising out of the
construction of a residential complex.
5. Representing Culver in an arbitration initiated by Eagle Video Films in respect to the revenue share, from the
exploitation of the rights under an assignment agreement. B&P also argued and successfully resisted an
application seeking an injunction against Culver. Eagle Video Films contends that under the assignment agreement
it is entitled to the revenue share from broadcasting a certain show on OTT platforms.
6. Representing AES India Pvt. Ltd. in challenging the claims raised by M/s Kalinga Insulation under various Letters of
Intent and Awards related to the OPGC Unit 3&4 Expansion Project. AES is currently taking steps to appeal the
dismissal of its challenge against the Award of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Facilitation Council at
Cuttack before the Orissa High Court.
7. Representing Trafigura Global Services Pvt. Ltd. (Trafigura) in arbitration proceedings against Indiabulls Properties
Pvt. Ltd. and BXIN Office Parks India Pvt. Ltd., in connection with disputes arising out of a lease deed relating to
One Indiabulls Centre. Trafigura is a constituent of the world's leading independent commodity trading and
logistics house.
8. Representing various BBC group entities before the Income Tax Authorities, as well as before
the Central Goods and Services Tax Authorities on related matters. Successfully represented BBC World
Distribution Ltd in an appeal filed by the Income Tax Department against a tax ruling in favour of BBC before the
Delhi High Court. The Delhi High Court concluded that no substantial questions of law arise in the appeal and thus,
no interference is required in the impugned ITAT order. The appeal was accordingly disposed.
