Career
With more than 12 years’ experience in the area of Business and Human Rights, Luiz has worked as a researcher and consultant in the field, as well as a lecturer at various educational institutions, teaching subjects in the areas of Public International Law, Law and Race, Business and Human Rights, among others. He advises clients on conducting Human Rights Due Diligence processes, human rights risk and impact assessments, developing Policies, supplier management procedures regarding human rights and training for clients from various sectors. He has expertise in articulating and engaging with affected communities, civil society organizations, social movements and public bodies (environmental, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, etc.), and in advocacy at international and national organizations. He is recognized for his work in the area and for his leadership in initiatives to promote Diversity & Inclusion and combat discrimination, and pro bono work with third sector organizations.
