Career

Luiz is a senior lawyer in BMA’s Competition practice area. He represents clients before Brazil’s antitrust authority, CADE - Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica.

Luiz represents clients before Brazil's antitrust authority, CADE - Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica, including notifications of Concentration Acts (e.g., mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures ) involving operations subject to the authority's approval and in Administrative Proceedings involving investigations of potentially anti-competitive conduct ( e.g., cartels). Luiz advises clients in the review of commercial practices and the development and training of competition compliance programs.

Among the clients he represents are some of the largest national and international companies, operating in several sectors, such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, chemical industry, oil and gas, civil construction, financial markets and investment banks, retail of goods, pharmacies and drugstores, fuel distribution and retail, and parking services.

Lecturer of Competition Law in the Postgraduate Compliance program at the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets - IBMEC (2019-2020).
