Career

Luis A. Aninat is a founding partner of Aninat Abogados with a broad experience of over 20 years as a corporate lawyer, with a recognized industry reputation, that has been permanently acting on behalf of domestic and foreign clients in all areas of practice within the corporate law field.

Mr. Aninat advises Chilean and foreign companies, funds and other business entities in Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, Financing, and asset restructuring projects, representing clients operating several economic sectors, including trade, finance, services, natural resources, real estate and construction, infrastructure, technology and communications.

His clients range from established multinational companies to closely held and private equity companies as well as startups and new businesses. His work spans from corporate selection and formation to company acquisitions, financing arrangements, partnership and shareholders agreements, as well as governance matters and restructuring procedures within companies and their subsidiaries.

Mr. Aninat is a highly dedicated professional, praised by clients by being permanently involved in all matters he and his team undertake, with an acute business awareness and for being “a lawyer of experience and prestige” with “a vast knowledge of corporate law”, who “delivers excellent legal service in corporate matters and M&A (…) supported by his knowledge and broad approach”.

In fact, in connection with his corporate experience, Mr. Aninat has advised corporate clients regarding product liability, consumer protection, antitrust and competition matters, regulatory matters, and has acted on behalf of corporate clients before the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF) and other government agencies.

In addition, Mr. Aninat is an arbitrator specialized in corporate matters, a member of the Council of the Center of Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago) and a member of the roster of corporate arbitrators of both the National Arbitration Center and the Santiago Court of Appeals.

As a complement to his corporate legal practice, Mr. Aninat serves as a board member of Parque del Sendero SpA and its subsidiaries, Citroën Chile SAC, Inversiones y Comercio Eurofrance S.A. and was included in the Register of Directors of the Pensions Superintendency as a qualified director to be appointed by Pension Funds Mangers.

Mr. Aninat is also a member of the faculty of the Corporate Law department of the Universidad de Chile School of Law and an elected member of the Council of the Chilean Bar Association, where he if the Chairman of the International Relations and the Professional Practice Committees.

Experience

Luis Alberto is currently a Visiting Professor of Commercial Law at the Law School of the University of Chile.

In addition, he collaborates with the Master of Professional Skills in the specialty of Property Law at the Law School of the Universidad Diego Portales and in the BOW Program of the School of Economics and Business of the same University.

Between 2002 and 2005, he cotaught a course on International Commercial Contracts at the Law School of the University of Chile.

Previously, he was an assistant professor at the Civil Law and Procedural Law Departments of the Law School of the University of Chile.

Luis Alberto has been a permanent speaker at the Jornadas Chilenas de Derecho Comercial and other specialized forums.
