Dr. Lora Green has over 30 years experience in the life science, pharmaceutical, and biotech fields. From 2001 to 2018, Lora was an administrative patent judge at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), serving as a lead administrative patent judge of the biotech team from 2011 to 2017.

While at the USPTO, she managed post-grant review proceedings, such as inter partes and post grant reviews, where she was involved in over 380 post-grant review proceedings. She also mentored judges who were new to post grant-review proceedings and reviewed opinions of other authoring judges. She decided over 4,000 ex parte appeals from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device examining groups. She was part of developing the “Orange Book Project” dedicated to evaluating the intersection of post-grant proceedings and Hatch-Waxman litigation.

Career

After graduating first in her class at George Washington University, Lora was a law clerk to the Honorable William C. Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She started her patent career in the USPTO as primary examiner and was later as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Immediately before joining Gemini, Lora was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati.
