Lloyd Liu is a partner at BLL focusing on white-collar criminal defense, government investigations, and complex civil litigation.
Mr. Liu's white-collar practice spans federal and state criminal and regulatory matters. He has represented senior executives, boards of directors, and corporate entities in government investigations, grand jury proceedings, and at trial, including matters involving financial crimes, public corruption, healthcare fraud, and tax offenses. He has substantial experience conducting internal investigations and managing parallel civil and regulatory proceedings before the Department of Justice, United States Attorney's Offices, offices of Inspector General, and other federal and state enforcement agencies.
His civil practice includes contractual and business disputes before state and federal courts and government agencies, and he has represented Fortune 500 companies across multiple jurisdictions.
He has been recognized in Best Lawyers as well as Super Lawyers. For five years, he wrote a column for the Washington Lawyer.
Professional Memberships
Mr. Liu serves as a Commissioner for the District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure. He is also on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area and on the board for the William B. Bryant Inn of Court, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason Antonin Scalia Law School, where he teaches White Collar Crime and Pretrial Practice.
