His expertise is particularly notable in project development, where he is widely regarded as a top-tier lawyer in designing and negotiating complex engineering and construction contracts, including EPC, DBB, EPC-M, Project Alliancing, among others. Leonardo is frequently engaged in disputes surrounding major construction projects, showcasing his adeptness in navigating complex legal challenges.
Over the past decade, he has represented many national and international organizations on numerous projects throughout Brazil. These projects encompass railways, roads, subways, soccer stadiums, port terminals, petrochemical plants, hydroelectric plants, bio-energy facilities, water treatment plants, and prison facilities, among others. Furthermore, Leonardo boasts a strong academic foundation, holding a master’s and PhD in Commercial Law from USP (University of São Paulo) and serving as a professor of Construction Law in the master’s program at FGV Direito-SP. He was a Visiting Scholar at King's College London, in 2023, and served as the president of the Brazilian Institute of Construction Law- IBDIC, from 2018 to 2020.
