Lauren Little leads our Projects and Third Sector Team, with over 15 years’ experience at TC Young acting for clients across a wide variety of commercial matters, including governance, regulation, finance management, construction, contracts and procurement.

Lauren has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating the terms of finance documentation, specifically for Registered Social Landlord (RSL) borrowers. Negotiating with law firms representing all major lenders in the sector, she has gained considerable knowledge of their requirements, standard documentation and approach to the market.

Specialising in RSL governance advice, Lauren supports clients in all types of governance and regulatory matters that they encounter, including interpretation of their constitutions, legislation and regulatory guidance, applying these to relevant circumstances in a practical manner. She also advises on legal structures, including constitutional partnerships, transfers of engagement, directed asset transfers and incorporation and management of subsidiary companies. She also provides advice to charitable clients on gaining and retaining charitable status, as well as liaising with regulatory bodies including OSCR, SHR and FCA.

Leading on procurement law issues, Lauren specialises in the interpretation of the procurement regulations as they relate to the specific contract requirements within the Registered Social Landlord (RSL) sector. She advises clients throughout the procurement process, from preparing and publishing the contract notice, through drafting the requisite tender and contract documentation, tender evaluation, contract award and dealing with any subsequent challenges from unsuccessful bidders. She regularly delivers seminars on public procurement law provides bespoke in-house training to clients.

She drafts and negotiates the terms of construction documentation including amendments to standard form building contracts and ancillary documentation such as collateral warranties from various consultants and sub-contractors, as well as parent company guarantees and performance bonds. Lauren acts for clients in terms of drafting contract conditions for various services, including repairs and maintenance contracts.
