Career
Kwadwo is a dual-qualified lawyer, called to the Bar of England and Wales and Ghana, with over 18 years of experience in legal practice. Recognized as a leading Corporate and Commercial Lawyer and an experienced International Arbitrator, he has successfully led complex transactions and high-stakes negotiations for multinational corporations and local businesses across diverse industries, including banking, finance, investment management, technology, energy, sports, mining, and pharmaceuticals.
Kwadwo is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), UK. He has represented companies and individuals in major corporate and commercial litigations, as well as domestic and international arbitrations. His notable work includes leading the team that advised on the establishment of a CSR Mutual Fund Company and a Ghana Sovereign Bond Index ETF. He has also structured transactions and drafted agreements for sustainable investments, securing over $20 million in green financing, and served as lead counsel in major mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, where he conducted due diligence and drafted key transactional documents.
A passionate advocate for sustainability, Kwadwo has become one of Ghana’s leading legal experts in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. He has received training in Environmental and Climate Law, Green Bonds, and the Operationalization of Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. He was part of Ghana’s delegation to COP28 and is completing a PhD in Sustainable Development and Diplomacy. His expertise extends to advising on carbon markets, climate finance, ecological economics, and sustainable business practices, including structuring carbon market transactions and resolving disputes linked to Article 6.2-related agreements.
Kwadwo has researched and written extensively on climate finance, carbon markets, and ecological economics. He regularly counsels businesses on integrating sustainability into their operations, managing climate-related risks, and ensuring compliance with evolving environmental standards.
In addition to his practice, Kwadwo serves as a board member of the Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council, also a lecturer in Company and Commercial Practice at the Ghana School of Law, where he contributes to shaping the next generation of legal practitioners.
