Kim Seten is the Managing Partner of Constangy’s Kansas City office, where she helps employers build strong, compliant workplaces and confidently navigate the challenges that come with managing people. Known for her practical approach and deep understanding of workplace dynamics, Kim partners with businesses to develop policies and practices that both reduce legal risk and support day-to-day operations.
Kim represents employers across the country in employment litigation, defending against claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, ADA violations, and wage and hour issues. She has significant experience handling class and collective actions, including those brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Kim also handles appellate matters, helping shape legal precedent on issues critical to employers.
In addition to her litigation work, Kim advises employers on labor relations strategy, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. She brings calm, clarity, and strategic insight to even the most complex labor challenges.
Kim is known for being highly responsive, easy to work with, and committed to understanding each client’s unique culture and business goals. She works closely with in-house counsel and HR teams to deliver solutions that are legally sound and operationally smart.
One client summed it up best: “Kim is not only an exceptional attorney, but she is also an exceptional person. I look forward to working with her for years to come.”

Outside of work, Kim and her husband, Matt, are proud parents of two amazing kids—one just starting college and the other keeping them busy with a full calendar of football and basketball games. There is nowhere Kim would rather be than in the stands, cheering enthusiastically. Kim is a devoted fan of the Chiefs and Kansas City Current and a longtime supporter of the Miami Heat. When she’s not at a sporting event, or thinking about her fantasy football team, Kim enjoys relaxing with a good Marvel movie and growing her collection of Marvel bobbleheads.
