Kevin Kolton has more than 30 years of experience as a construction lawyer. Kevin’s practice focuses on representing owners involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of utility scale energy projects, including a focus on wind, solar and other renewable projects. Kevin’s clients consult him on a daily and ongoing basis, as he provides counsel, advice, and legal services related to virtually every aspect of ongoing construction projects including, planned and unplanned outages. Kevin assists in the drafting and negotiation of the governing construction agreements and provides counsel during the on-going construction activities, including the evaluation and negotiation of change order requests and warranty claims. Kevin helps his clients develop the metrics needed to monitor the Project’s schedule and budget and to prepare associated reports. Kevin also assists in the drafting and negotiation of long term operation and maintenance agreements associated with owning the facility. When disputes arise, Kevin helps his clients resolve them – efficiently and effectively - through mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
