Career
Karina Lengler, partner in charge of the corporate and M&A practice and managing partner of the firm, has extensive experience both as in house and external counsel, in Brazil and the US, as is licensed to practice law in Brazil and New York. With over 27 years of practice in corporate law, including transactions involving Fortune 500 companies, Ms. Lengler has a successful track-record, domestically and abroad, along with a diverse background which allows her to be a more effective attorney, contributing to the firm’s clients with more practical and creative solutions to legal issues.
Ms. Lengler also holds an MBA from FGV in Brazil, and LLM from Columbia University) and got her L.LB from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP). Ms. Lengler has lived for over 10 years in the US, working in law firms in the East Coast (Shearman & Sterling in NY) and in the Midwest (Bryan Cave in St. Louis, MO). In Brazil, also worked as general counsel of a publicly held mining company.
Ms. Lengler has a very pro-business approach and a very practical manner of practicing law. Highly skilled in negotiating, she focusses on the outcome in order to close the transactions. “A win-win deal is an easier deal to close.” Ms. Lengler is detailed oriented but has a very broad knowledge of the various legal matters involved in a transaction through the extensive experience she has advising corporate clients in Brazil and abroad. Karina is fluent in English and French.
