Julián Ruiz

Julián is a senior associate of the Intellectual Property practice group at Baker McKenzie Bogotá. He has worked at the Colombian Copyright Office and in different top firms in Intellectual Property, Copyright and Entertainment Law.

He was president of the Colombian Copyright Association (CECOLDA) and is a member of the Association littéraire et artistique internationale (ALAI).

He has lectured on Artificial Intelligence, New Technologies, Copyright and Entertainment Law.

Julian is recognized for his contribution in various high-impact litigations in intellectual property and unfair competition, negotiations with collective management organizations, advertising legal advice, contractual structuring of businesses in the technology and creative industries, as well as in the management of large portfolios of brands at national and international level.

He has worked for major audiovisual production companies, performing clearance and contractual structuring of audiovisual projects, as well as for multiple artists and record labels. He has experience advising OTT service platforms of global impact, as well as different companies in matters of royalty collection for copyright and related rights.
