Julia advises private clients on estate planning, and on tax and legal issues relating to French or cross-border assets and income. Her practice extends to transfers of tax residence, structuring of real estate acquisitions, international successions and donations (covering both tax and civil law aspects), international mobility, tax audits and litigation, and the taxation of foreign trusts.
She regularly assists families and family businesses with their structuring, development, and estate planning in both domestic and international contexts. She has significant expertise in international succession and tax law, including complex cross-border successions involving foreign trusts and French resident beneficiaries, French assets, or foreign wills in combination with French wills.
Julia also provides in-depth advice on foreign trusts and comparable entities, covering the French tax consequences for settlors, beneficiaries, and trustees, and assisting with the preparation of mandatory French trust reporting obligations.
She began her career in 2004 in the Personal Tax and International Mobility department of Landwell & Associés.
In 2006, she joined the Business Transfer team of the notary firm Monassier & Associés, where she acquired and developed solid expertise in the field of asset transfer.
From 2008 to 2020, she worked as a senior associate in the tax team of Franklin, led by Jérôme Barré.
Since April 2020, she has been a partner at Yards (formerly Barré & Associés).

In April 2021, Julia co-authored with Laurent Gabaud in the Revue fiscale du Patrimoine a commentary on the decision of the Court of Cassation of January 6, 2021, entitled “The irrevocability of the trust is not sufficient for inheritance tax purposes!”.
In November 2018, she co-wrote with Aurore Meslin a study for the Revue fiscale du Patrimoine titled “Tax residence and income tax of private clients in Spain”.
In March 2017, she contributed with Laurent Gabaud to the article “Income and gains of individuals who change residence – A multinational survey” published in the Journal of International Taxation, providing the French section of the study.
Also in 2017, she authored an article entitled “The tax planning of art ownership” in Entertainment (Larcier), No. 6, p. 441, within the special issue Art and Taxation.
Earlier, in November 2013, she co-authored with Jérôme Barré the French contribution to the article “International tax treatment of trusts”, published in W.P.N.R..

She lectures at the University of Paris-Malakoff in the Master II “Juriste Fiscaliste” programme, where she teaches courses on income and estate taxation.
She is also a lecturer at Skema Business School in the Specialized Master in Financial Wealth Management, focusing on the transfer of companies.
In addition, she regularly contributes to professional training programmes, including courses organised by EFE.
