Juan Carlos Villar focuses on commercial litigation, mediation, national and international commercial arbitration, private and public construction disputes, corporate disputes, international contract negotiation. He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law, the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Young ITA (Institute for Transnational Arbitration at the Center for American and International Law). He served as Coordinator of the Young Arbitrators Committee, Bajío Chapter, of the ICC Mexico for the period April 2020 - April 2022 and, by publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF, México) dated January 10, 2023, he is authorized to act as arbitrator in the arbitration proceedings regulated by the Federal Copyright Law.
He obtained his law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro through graduation by average. Likewise, he studied a Specialization in Constitutional Law and Amparo, a Master's Degree in State and Municipal Public Administration, as well as a Specialization in Notarial Law at the same University. He has completed several courses, seminars and diploma courses, including the Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration given by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Universidad Anáhuac. He has authored and co-authored articles, ebooks, publications, essays and magazines, as well as lectured on commercial and arbitration matters in conferences, interviews, business forums and radio programs, as well as in different universities in the country, including his participation as arbitrator in the Inter-University Commercial and Investment Arbitration Competition, UP-ICC Mexico Moot, organized by the Universidad Panamericana Law School and ICC Mexico. Mr. Villar is a partner of Villar & Villar Abogados, S.C., since 2010.
