Joshua regularly advises on corporate matters and has extensive experience in investments and fundraising, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, and capital structuring.

Working closely with a wide range of start-ups, investors and accelerators, Joshua advises on the full range of matters concerning early-stage and growth-stage companies, from fundraising to governance and operational matters. He very regularly assists clients with commercial negotiations and works with all sides to achieve a long-term, practical and commercially-effective approach in the interests of his clients.

Financial Regulatory and Fintech

Joshua is highly experienced in the financial services regulatory space and acted for a crowdfunding platform which became one of the first in Singapore to successfully be granted a capital markets services licence for crowdfunding. He regularly advises funds and crowdfunding platforms on financial services regulations in Singapore.

Joshua is also well versed with the emerging industries related to blockchain, distributed ledger technology (DLT), decentralised financing (De-Fi), decentralised autonomised organisations (DAOs), and cryptocurrencies. He has advised numerous clients on the regulatory landscape in Singapore, particularly in the developing financial and payment services regulations. He has also advised various e-payments service providers and cryptocurrency exchange platforms, including applicants to MAS for payment services licences.

General Commercial

On the commercial front, Joshua frequently advises businesses across various industries, including fintech, e-commerce, deep tech, publishing, human resources, logistics, manufacturing, and F&B.

Some specific commercial matters that Joshua regularly assists with include commercial contracts and structured business arrangements, online terms & conditions and privacy policies, franchising and licensing, employment, and commercial regulatory compliance.

Joshua has also acted on Singapore’s Fair Tenancy Framework Industry Committee, advising industry groups on fair tenancy proposals.
