José Alexandre Buaiz Neto

José Alexandre Buaiz Neto has been a member of Pinheiro Neto Advogados since 1994 and a partner of the firm since 2006. He serves domestic and international companies from different industries in investigations, compliance and litigation on matters involving anti-bribery, antitrust, money-laundering and fraud, among other issues. He has been involved in leading cross-border investigations and litigation and has also been in charge of several negotiations with various Brazilian authorities in federal, state and municipal levels. He is praised by clients and peers as a leader in his practice areas in accordance with Brazilian and international publications. José holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Brasília (“UnB”) and a LL.M. from Boston University. He served as a Board member of the Council of Appeals of the National Financial System (“CRSFN”) from 2011 to 2013 and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Dutch Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and of the Management Board of the Brazilian Institute for Studies on Competition, Consumer Law and International Trade. José also serves as Executive Officer of the Integrity Committee of ICC Brasil. He was a foreign associate in an international law firm in New York in 1997–1998 and has lectured at different institutions since 1999.
