Jonathan Woolf

Jonathan specialises in complex cross-border M&A and joint venture transactions in the energy and oil and gas sector and has over 25 years’ experience in international M&A. He has executed transactions globally in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. He is frequently instructed by the some of the largest supermajors in the energy sector on international M&A and joint venture transactions and by a range of other majors and independents. Clients describe him as “just completely on top of his game” and “very good at managing big transactions, sensible and pragmatic”.

Jonathan joined Pinsent Masons energy corporate team in the UK in 2024 from CMS. At CMS he was co-head of CMS’s oil and gas team. Before CMS, he led bp plc’s global M&A legal team in London for six years. Before bp, he worked at Linklaters and Ashurst in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
