Jonathan is a specialist criminal barrister. His practice is focused almost exclusively on defence work, representing individuals and companies across a range of complex criminal matters, spanning general crime, fraud, regulatory crime, proceeds of crime, computer misuse/cybercrime. He provides first class representation and client care combined with thorough preparation.
Jonathan's regulatory crime expertise covers health and safety, trade marks, trading standards, food and hygiene, environmental, housing and planning as well as animal welfare. In his crime practice, Jonathan has defended the full spectrum of criminal offences from sexual offences through to drugs, violence and neglect as well as general dishonesty and theft.
He has built his experience in fraud, business and financial crime over years of acting for the Specialist Fraud Division of the Crown Prosecution Service, and HMRC, as well as undertaking disclosure and review work for both the Serious Fraud Office and National Crime Agency.
Jonathan's proceeds of crime practice sees him assist in some of the most complex proceeding pertaining to the confiscation of assets, cash forfeiture and seizure, asset recovery, third party confiscation, restraint orders and freezing orders, account freezing and forfeiture orders as well as unexplained wealth orders.
Jonathan can accept instructions directly from members of the public and professional clients under the Direct Access (or Public Access) scheme.
