Jonathan specialises in major disputes arising out of the construction, civil engineering and energy sectors. Throughout his career, he has handled high-profile cases representing governments (British and overseas), contractors, and their professional advisers. He regularly appears as counsel in English High Court litigation and international and domestic arbitration.

Jonathan is a highly experienced arbitrator, either party nominated or as President in domestic and international arbitrations. He has experience of, and is frequently appointed, in disputes conducted under the auspices of DIAC, ICC, LCIA and SIAC arbitrations. He also has experience of arbitrations conducted under the UNCITRAL rules. Projects and seats have covered the regions of Asia-Pacific, Central Asia, The Middle East, Europe (Paris, Brussels, Sweden, Switzerland and London) and the Caribbean. He is particularly familiar with the laws of both Oman and UAE and precepts of Sharia Law. In addition to his extensive experience as arbitrator Jonathan is an experienced adjudicator.

Jonathan was appointed as a deputy high court judge in 2008 and sits regularly in the Technology and Construction Courts.
