João is a partner in the Banking and Finance practice. Over 12 years, he has gained extensive experience in regulatory matters and in advising clients from the banking and financial sectors. His clients also include listed companies, shareholders and investors.
João specialises in regulatory matters relating to markets, derivatives, custody and clearing, and regulation of financial services and listed companies.
He completed a postgraduate course in banking law at the Faculty of Law of the Universidade in Lisbon.
Before joining PLMJ, João was a lawyer in Garrigues and a lawyer in the international regulatory policy department of the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
