Career

Jenifer Smith is Co-Chair of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital at DLA Piper. She serves as outside corporate counsel to public and private companies, advising them on significant corporate transactions, including cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private equity and venture capital financings.

Jenifer advises boards of directors and management teams in a wide range of industries over the life cycle of the business, with particular focus on strategic and corporate governance issues, as well as compliance with securities laws and SEC disclosure requirements.

Jenifer was recognized by The Deal in its 2020 Top Women in Dealmaking list, a list that showcases 48 US women attorneys identified for making a significant difference in this world and shattering the glass ceiling in M&A transactions.

Jenifer is a member of the investment committee for the DLA Piper Venture Fund and is also Co-Hiring Partner for the Austin office.
