Javier Wilenmann is one of the leading experts in criminal law in Chile. He has been a key advisor to several high profile legal reforms, including four committees to draft a new penal code, the drafting committee of the Economic Crime Act of 2023, as well as several major reforms in the field. He is a full professor at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, having published over 60 papers at some of the main academic outlets in criminal law, criminal justice and law and society in the US, the UK, Germany, Spain and Latin America. He is also the author of six books, including one of the leading commentaries in white collar criminal law (Derecho Penal Económico Chileno, coedited with Antonio Bascuñán).

In practice, he specializes in compliance, white collar criminal law and complex dispute resolutions. He has been a key advisor in some of the most important white collar cases in Chile. In 2024, he founded the specialized compliance consulting firm WB Compliance.

He has written over 60 papers and 6 books on topics covering corporate and white collar criminal law, criminal justice, both from empirical and doctrinal perspectives.
