Career

Javier has been in private practice for more than 30 years. He handles all kinds of transactional trademark matters, including rebranding projects, franchising, etc. He is also active in domain name disputes and trademark infringements on the Internet and social networks.

Experienced in several fields of IP law and IT law, he advises clients on a wide range of projects. In the trademark field he is also active in litigation, where he has obtained important decisions in the last years, including two cases of dilution by tarnishment.

Javier is an expert on mediation, and his negotiation skills have been key in obtaining many outstanding settlement agreements. He is a panellist with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and the Madrid Bar Arbitration Center.

Professor of IP at the IE Law School since 1988. Visiting professor at Universidad Carlos III and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Professor of the WIPO Academy.
