Personal
Jan Měkota has been working at the law firm Chrenek, Toman, Kotrba since 2025 and leads its team for competition, state aid, and regulation.
Jan graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague in 2011 and has been listed in the register of lawyers maintained by the Czech Bar Association under No. 17666 since 2017.
Jan specializes in competition law, public procurement and PPP, sectoral regulation, especially in the fields of energy, telecommunications, or e-commerce. He has long been involved in representing clients before the Office for the Protection of Competition, the European Commission, or administrative courts. In his practice, he focuses on managing the legal aspects of projects aimed at cooperation between the public and private sectors. He holds individual awards in a number of international rankings.

·Successful representation of the Heureka price comparison service before the CJEU in preliminary ruling proceedings, resulting in clarification of the limitation period in the private enforcement of competition law, with EU-wide significance (Case C-605/21)
