Career

Jami’s understanding of the intricacies of real estate development, as well as the law, give her clients an edge in their transactions. Jami advises clients on matters related to transactional real estate and land use for the development of commercial, industrial, and real estate developments. She provides legal advice and assistance to clients in all aspects of real estate transactions and development, including commercial leasing, property acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence and feasibility analyses, development strategies, environmental review, land use permitting and administrative proceedings, and construction contracting.

Jami has a broad variety of real estate experience, including representing an e-retailer tenant in multi-million dollar build-to-suit industrial leases, negotiating AIA construction contracts and creating client-specific master service agreements, and assisting builders with single-family and multi-family developments. With more than 10 years of experience serving as in-house counsel to real estate development companies, Jami has developed practical real estate and business strategies, based on a deep understanding of real estate and construction issues experienced by tenants, builders, and developers.

Jami’s land use practice includes both policy and regulatory issues including compliance with the Clean Water Act and wetland regulations; subdivision regulations; NEPA/SEPA; flood plain regulations; critical area regulations; Endangered Species Act compliance; shorelines; water rights; growth management and zoning; traffic impact studies and mitigation; and historic landmark designations. Jami has also helped clients prepare and process development proposals for distribution centers, commercials sites, subdivisions, town homes, apartments, master planned developments, gravel pits, and vineyards.
