Career
Jaime Tobar is the managing partner of Tobar & Romero. He specialises in dispute resolution and competition law. He has over 35 years of experience in litigation, as well as domestic and international arbitration. He advises and represents national and international companies in key sectors, including oil and gas, energy, finance, telecommunications, construction, and transportation. He has served as a Pro Tem Judge to the Conseil d’État since 2017 and to the Constitutional Court since 2022.
He regularly sits as an arbitrator in complex, high-value disputes. Additionally, Jaime is a law professor and a member of several legal organisations, including the Colombian Institute for Procedural Law, the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence, the Competition Law Centre, and the Colombian Committee for Arbitration.
