Work Highlights

(I) Retained by Uganda Law Society as part of the core team to review the Corporate Insolvency Regulations 2011 which operationalised the Insolvency Act, 2011.

(ii) Successfully representing Sino Hydro Corporation, in administrative review proceedings against the best-evaluated bidder for the Mubende Kakumiro Kagadi (107km) design and build road project contract valued at USD 130 Million Dollars.

(iii) Acting for China Chongqing International Construction Company, a company wholly owned by the Chinese Government, on a construction dispute amounting to USD 6.5 Million relating to the validity of a subcontract executed under a Civil works contract.

(iv) Successfully represented Geo Tech Uganda Limited, a leading Geotechnical Solutions company in the Great Lakes region covering Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan and Congo on a contractual dispute with an O & M company on the largest dam project in Uganda.

(v) Successfully represented Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited in a labour dispute with a senior employee at the Industrial court.

(vi) Advising Schlumberger Oilfield Eastern Limited (“SOEL”), to determine an appropriate course of action against a Business Consulting Group, in connection to a payment in excess of USD 6OO,000 (United States Dollars Six Hundred Thousand).

(Vii) Retained by Uganda Law Society as its representative and advisor to the Government of Uganda on the EA Protocol on movement of goods and services covering the Northern Corridor of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Southern Sudan
