Iulian Popescu

Partner Iulian Popescu heads the Projects department. He has over 18 years’ experience handling and advising on highly complex projects and procurement transactions, as well as on matters regarding Corporate & Commercial, Mergers & Acquisitions, Energy & Natural Resources, TMT and Environmental.

Iulian has extensive experience in Procurement and PPP, as well as on Energy & Natural Resources related projects, with a particular emphasis on Infrastructure & Transport and Environmental matters. In particular, he specializes in drafting, negotiating and advising on complex contracts for international companies and Mining Oil & Gas ventures and is constantly involved on complex regulatory matters.

In addition to contract negotiation, Iulian has broad experience in asset acquisition, due diligence investigations and project structuring. His experience also includes leading advisory roles in large infrastructure projects, in particular public acquisitions and PPPs, concession law and licensing/regulatory issues.

He advised a significant portfolio of clients from various sectors including defence, energy, construction and TMT, on all aspects of their businesses. Clients include Solar Turbines Europe, Omya Calcita, Harris Corporation.

Iulian joined Musat & Asociatii in 2004. He has been a partner since 2012.
