Isabell Hitzer is an experienced lawyer in the field of banking and finance, with more than 10 years of experience in the European finance market.

Before co-founding Astera Legal in 2023, she was a partner at Renzenbrink & Partner in Munich. Prior to that, she worked for Ashurst LLP in Munich and London. She began her professional career at RölfsPartner in Munich.

A certified specialist in banking and capital markets law since 2014, she studied law at the University of Passau (2003–2008) and completed her legal clerkship at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court (2008–2010).

Isabell Hitzer advises Private Equity firms, debt funds, and banks on domestic and cross-border financing matters, with a particular focus on acquisition financing, leveraged buyouts, and direct lending. She supports clients throughout all phases of a financing transaction, from structuring and contract negotiation to execution.

Having worked for leading international and national law firms, she has extensive experience with complex financing structures that consider the specific requirements of institutional investors and financial institutions.
