Iain Cullen

Specialising in investment funds, Iain focuses particularly on structuring hedge funds and advising hedge fund managers. He has advised on the establishment of some of the largest and best known UK hedge fund managers, including Brevan Howard, BlueCrest, Capula, Egerton, Lansdowne and Marshall Wace.

Iain is a partner in our Financial Services Group in London. He has served as General Counsel of the Alternative Investment Management Association since its foundation in 1990, was Co-Chairman from 1991-1995 of the Commodities, Futures and Options Committee of the Section on Business Law of the International Bar Association and was the co-editor of Hedge Funds: Law and Regulation published by Sweet & Maxwell (2001).

Iain is ranked in the category Senior Statespeople for hedge funds work in the Chambers guide to the UK legal profession and is also listed in the Hall of Fame of The Legal 500 directory for his hedge fund practice.

Iain was named in the Finance section of The Lawyer’s The Hot 100 2007, won the Best Lawyer award at the Hedge Fund Journal Awards 2007 and was presented with a Hedge Funds - Law and Practice – Outstanding Contribution award at the Hedge Fund Journal Awards 2014.
