Experience

Henry Lang is a top player in the Costa Rica law firm arena. He is widely known and respected by his peers and in the legal industry overall as a top Costa Rican corporate attorney.

Henry’s legal career, of more than 30 years, has been always based and imprinted by academic excellence, impeccable attention to detail, and practical sense. He not only graduated with the highest-grade point average in the entire University of Costa Rica (highest not only at the Law School but for all schools of the University, by far, the largest of the country), but he pursued his Masters’ Degree, with a Fulbright scholarship, at Harvard Law School.

Henry’s trajectory in the law business is the result of hard, constant, and impeccable work. He started his own law firm just one year after returning from Harvard, with one single file, and one client. Through hard work, and the philosophy of the client being always first, to always hold the highest moral ground and for all work to always be top quality, he started developing his law practice, and through word of mouth and referrals from satisfied customers and colleagues, he constructed what is now one of the top ranked firms in the country.

Henry is considered a top legal mind, always available for his clients, resolving complex issues with a practical business sense. He leads his team by example, strives to always be acknowledged of matters going on at the firm, and participates actively in such matters, understanding the client, their needs, the strengths and weaknesses of the firm’s team, and coordinating and maximizing efficiency and quality of the work.

Henry has a long-standing relationship with the different entities promoting foreign direct investment in Costa Rica and is one of the most trusted legal names for new projects. Both CINDE (Costa Rican foreign direct investment promotion agency) and Procomer (Costa Rica’s free trade zone government entity) consider him as a point of reference for foreign investment and corporate matters in the country.

Henry is a member of the American Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) and at the French Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce. He is also on the list of top recommended attorneys for the United States, Canadian, French, Swiss, Belgian and Australian Embassies in the country.

Besides his native tongue, Spanish, Henry has also full command of English and French and is praised by clients for the management of their matters in such languages as if they were his native tongue.

He has forged relationships with most key players in the Costa Rican legal arena, with which he has been involved in countless deals and negotiations, which have established a level of standing and trust that is invaluable for the transactions he is involved with.

In the international arena, Henry has a vast network of colleagues with many of whom he does not only have a professional relationship but a friendship one. This has been especially supported by the solid Harvard Law School network, and his direct and continuous relationship to such University.

Hard work, impeccable results, attention to detail and taking the client’s matters as one’s own has been his constant motto, which he upholds with all members of his team and under his lead.
