Henry Fung

Career

Henry is a Partner in HFW’s Shipping team. His expertise covers a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious cases. His contentious work covers traditional shipping and yachting-related work (charterparty disputes, cargo claims, personal injury claims and insurance claims), as well as other commercial disputes (litigations/arbitrations), including cross-border multi-party litigations/winding ups.

Henry also acts for clients in a wide range of non-contentious cases, including negotiations and drafting of contracts and commercial papers. He has experience liaising with various regulatory bodies and regularly advises on regulatory, compliance and sanction issues. He also has an established practice in ship and yacht building and sale and purchase, as well as ship finance. Equipped with a PRC law degree and with the ability to speak Putonghua, Henry also acts for both local and overseas clients in PRC related matters including setting up joint ventures and cross-border loans.

Henry divides his time between our Hong Kong and Shanghai offices.

Henry is qualified in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, England and Wales and the BVI. He is also a Notary Public and a China Appointed Attesting Officer.
